Cyril and Methodius
Greek-speaking brothers from Thessalonica took the gospel to the Slavs. They invented an alphabet to write Slavonic, translated the Scriptures and liturgy, and earned the title "Apostles to the Slavs" — patrons of Bible translation in the East.
